Fictional demonstration · Websites
Field Notes, in one sentence.
An original website for an imagined architecture studio called Field Notes, shown to explain how we shape a site: one sentence and three paths.
CH 01
The brief
An imagined studio, a slower pace.
Field Notes designs houses, interiors and small public buildings. Its work is quiet, and its old website was busy. The invented brief: say what the studio does in one sentence, show a few places, and make it easy to ask a focused question.
The page is an olive panel, a line drawing of a house and a lot of room around the words.
CH 02
The approach
One sentence, three paths.
We start with what a visitor needs to understand in the first screen, then give them three places to go. Nothing else competes with those paths.
- 01
Work
A few places, with the choices, materials and limits behind each one.
- 02
Approach
A short note on how the studio listens and works with the people who will use the space.
- 03
Enquire
One form, with a note on timing and what the studio takes on.
CH 03
What it shows
The first screen, composed.
CH 04
For a real client
What it would take.
A real website needs more than a composition. These are the things we would need from you, and the things you would get back.
- A real audience and offer to write for, with your own words and photographs
- A page plan agreed with you before any design starts
- Content you can maintain after launch, and a launch checklist
- Accessibility and keyboard checks on the finished site
- A price agreed after a 20-minute call, written down before work begins
