Accessibility
Accessibility statement.
Everyone should be able to find out what we do and reach us. Here is how this site is built for that, and how to tell us when it falls short.
Effective Version 1.0
Our commitment
Risk Free is committed to serving people with disabilities in a way that respects their dignity and independence, in line with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we have built in
- A text version of the film. The homepage film tells our story without sound. “Read the tour” opens the same story as text, and “Skip the film” goes straight to the content.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, the homepage shows a still and the website instead of the film, reveal animations and parallax are switched off, and all content is shown at once.
- Keyboard and screen readers. Every link, button, menu and form control can be reached and used with a keyboard, focus is always visible, each page starts with a skip link, and pages use real headings, labels and landmarks.
- Readable text. Body text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background, and the layout works when text is enlarged to 200% and on small screens.
- Works without JavaScript. Every page and the contact form work with scripts turned off.
- Images described. Images that carry meaning have text descriptions; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
Known limits
- The live reception demo is a voice conversation, so it needs a microphone and hearing. Everything it demonstrates is also described in writing on the reception page, and you can ask us any question by email instead.
- The demo’s voice service is provided by a third party, and we cannot fully control how it behaves with every assistive technology.
We test with keyboard-only use, screen-reader checks and automated tools, and we fix problems as we find them.
