About these terms

These terms apply when you use riskfreereception.ca or buy a service from Risk Free (“Risk Free”, “we”, “us”), a business based in Ontario, Canada. “You” means the person or business using the site or buying from us. If a written proposal or agreement we both accept says something different, that document wins for that project.

Questions about these terms: riskfreereception@gmail.com.

This website

The pages on this site describe our services. Examples on the work page and in our guides are labelled as fictional demonstrations or illustrative data; they are not client results. Guides are general information, not professional advice. Nothing on this site is a quote or an offer until we agree one with you in writing (email counts).

The live demo on the reception page is a demonstration agent. Please use it reasonably: no abusive, automated or excessive calls, and no attempts to break it. We may limit or switch it off at any time.

The AI receptionist

What it does

The AI receptionist answers your business phone 24 hours a day, answers common questions and takes messages and booking requests, and it tells callers it is an AI. It books appointments directly only where a booking connection has been set up and confirmed with you. Before it goes live we agree with you, in writing, what it says, what it books, what it passes on and how it hands calls or messages to you.

Price and billing

  • Set-up is $597, which includes your first month of service. After that it is $397 a month.
  • Prices are in Canadian dollars and do not include applicable taxes such as HST, which we add to invoices where required.
  • Monthly fees are billed in advance, starting one month after your receptionist goes live. Payment is due on receipt of the invoice.
  • “Unlimited calls” means we do not charge per call or per minute. It covers genuine calls to your business. If a line receives automated, spam or abusive traffic, we may filter it and will talk to you about it.
  • We will give you at least 30 days’ written notice before changing your monthly price.

Term and cancelling

  • There is no minimum term. Service continues month to month until either of us cancels.
  • You can cancel at any time by emailing riskfreereception@gmail.com. Service runs to the end of the month you have paid for and then stops; we do not refund part-months.
  • The set-up fee is not refundable once set-up work has started, because it pays for that work and your first month.
  • If an invoice is more than 14 days overdue we may pause the service after telling you, and resume it when the account is paid.

What it is not

  • It is not an emergency service. Your greeting should tell anyone in danger to hang up and call 911, and the receptionist will say so if a caller describes an emergency.
  • It does not give medical, legal or financial advice, and it cannot guarantee that a caller will book, buy or call back.
  • It depends on phone networks, the internet and third-party voice and AI providers. We monitor it and fix problems quickly, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted or never make a mistake.

Your part

  • Give us accurate information for it to use (hours, services, prices, policies) and tell us when anything changes.
  • Where the law requires callers to be told a call is recorded, agree a greeting with us that tells them.
  • Use it lawfully and not to mislead callers.

Websites, marketing and outreach

These services are priced by project after a 20-minute call. Each project gets a written proposal setting out what we will do, the price, how payment is split and an estimated timeline. Timelines are estimates and depend on getting content and decisions from you on time.

We do not promise search rankings, traffic, enquiries or sales, and we will never describe any of them as guaranteed. Search engines and platforms change how they work without notice.

For outreach, you confirm that you have a lawful basis, including any consent required under Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL), to contact each person on a list you give us. We do not buy or scrape lists, every message identifies you and includes a working way to unsubscribe, and we stop contacting anyone who asks.

Ownership

  • You keep ownership of everything you give us: your content, logos, photos, customer information and call data.
  • When a project is paid in full, you own the final website content and the design files we made specifically for you, and you can move your site to another provider.
  • We keep ownership of our own tools, templates, code libraries, prompts and know-how, and give you a permanent licence to use whatever of them is built into your finished work.
  • We will not show your work, name or results publicly without your written permission.

Confidentiality and privacy

We keep your business information confidential and use it only to deliver our services. When we handle your customers’ or callers’ personal information, we do so on your behalf and only as our agreement allows. How we handle personal information on this website is described in our privacy policy.

Limits on our responsibility

We do our work with care and skill. To the extent the law allows:

  • we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost bookings or lost data, or for problems caused by things outside our reasonable control, including outages at phone carriers, hosting or AI providers;
  • our total responsibility for any claim connected to our services is limited to the fees you paid us for the affected service in the three months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.

Ending a project or service

Either of us may end a service if the other seriously breaches these terms and does not fix the problem within 14 days of being told in writing. When a service ends, you pay for work done and service provided up to that date, and we give you a copy of your content and data we hold on request, then delete it within 90 days unless the law requires us to keep it.

Disputes and governing law

If something goes wrong, tell us first at riskfreereception@gmail.com; most problems are solved with a conversation. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version on this page, with its effective date, is the current one. If a change materially affects a service you already buy from us, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to you.
